What the Role Is

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Analyst to join our team in Arizona. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing of payroll, commissions, and bonuses while maintaining compliance with multi-state payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel skills, strong analytical abilities, and experience working with payroll tax reporting at a regional level.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Payroll Processing & Compliance
  • Conduct end-to-end payroll processing, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and tax compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Reconcile payroll, commissions, and bonuses with sales performance metrics and financial data.
  • Review and process payroll adjustments, deductions, and garnishments.
  • Review and validate quarterly payroll tax reports for federal and multiple states.
  • Respond to inquiries and special requests from regulatory agencies regarding payroll compliance.
• Data Analysis & Financial Reporting
  • Leverage advanced Excel techniques to perform in-depth payroll and commission data analysis.
  • Provide weekly, month-end, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc payroll and financial reports.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll and commission processing.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities in collaboration with internal teams.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement
  • Work closely with HR, Finance, and Sales teams to ensure alignment on payroll, commissions, and bonus policies.
  • Facilitate payroll audits by preparing and providing required documentation to auditors.
  • Utilize payroll technology and automation tools to streamline payroll operations and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve payroll processes, reporting accuracy, and system efficiencies.
• Other Duties as Assigned

What We’re Looking For

• 3-5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros, Power Query, etc.) required.
• Experience reconciling commissions, bonuses, and sales performance metrics.
• Strong analytical skills with experience handling large data sets.
• Experience working with GAAP principles and payroll reporting best practices.
• Ability to manage payroll schedules, deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.
